I really need to figure out a way to get rid of this refrigerator. We live in an apartment now and they provide one, so the one we own is sitting in the garage, wasting electricity. I want to buy a freezer (just one of those small chest freezers from Wal-Mart... 7 cu. ft, I think) but have no where to put it until the fridge is gone. I would just Freecycle it but it is only 5 years old and an expensive side by side with ice and water through the door... and Marty seems to think we could sell it. Anyone need a fridge? LOL
I am loving my FoodSaver thing! Ok, it is a Black & Decker brand, but "I am loving my Black & Decker brand vacuum sealer!" just doesn't sound as good. It was free (Gotta love Freecycle!) so I am not complaining, but I definitely want to get a stronger one. We were vac packing some things today and after the 3rd or 4th thing it got too hot wouldn't seal the bag. (Melted, but not sealed is not a good thing.)
We had another snow day today. My kids didn't. I am mean and made them do school, but the Govt. kids had the day off. So yes, that means we got more snow. I swear I can't wait to get the hell out of Michigan. I love it here... the town, our apartment, our friends, everything except the weather. I really, really hate it.
Tomorrow is the first archery with Alex and Christian's new bows. I have to remember to take the camera so I can send my grandma & grandpa pictures of them shooting.
I am working on trying to figure out what to plant in my little space. Last year we finally got around to planting a little late (didn't move in until June 10th) so I just mass planted impatiens, and although I think it looked really good, I am thinking of planting either herbs or a butterfly garden on one side of the patio and "something else" on the other. We are right next to a tree line, so one side gets really good sun and the other really good shade. I have the EarthBoxes for the edge of the patio, and was thinking of doing tomatoes in either the EB or one of these really cool things. A foot of snow on the ground makes it seem like the perfect time to plan a garden!
